I contacted Harman about a year ago asking for a replacement encoder
when I first got a flaky Vortex. I called back today and the guy
said they were no longer in stock, and he did not know who the original
supplier was. For what it is worth, the info I had was:

     Harman Music Group
     Technical Support
     801-568-7567
     The part number is 452-09555
The cost is 5.88 each + shipping handling

He was not aware of anything electrically equivalent, though I have
to believe something must exist.

Jeff
