I'd have thought that the short scale wouldn't allow the production of 
strong basslines.
(well, not the way I play anyway ;-)

It's inspiring to see you getting your ideal instrument made,
and I'm looking forward to hearing it.

My ideal would have a flat (no curvature) neck and scalloped frets,
...and you got me thinking that it's a possibility :-)
