Howdy,

 in the book "Electronic projects for  Musicians",
Craig Anderton has a chapter on stompbox bypass
switches that are very simple, yet effective.
basically it just uses acouple tie down resistors at
the switch points to gently discharge any capacitance
that can make those nasty pops go away.
