dual American pin to three "monstrous" UK style of plug, :) <<
noo-oo-oo-oo! the voltage is different..... he'd fry his wallwart
with our 230 eurovolts.
the original lexicon jamman is a bit fussy about it's power
anyway. mr sellon says that sometimes the supplied psu isn't adequate, & my
own experience is that this will almost certainly happen when you are on stage.
I can't see why this is, because when the 9V ac gets into the box, it's
rectified & turned into 5V. so 9V should be plenty, but it often isn't. I
suspect (as with some alesis gear) that the 5V reg isn't the end of the story,
& that some of the 9V ac (or possibly even dc) goes somewhere else inside
the thing aswell.
anyway. point is, all you need is something that can chuck out
9-10V ac from an input of 230V ac.
if you don't want to buy a downconverter- which would a) seem like
a sledgehammer to crack a nut & b) leave the risk of plugging the US
wallwart in without it's little helper one day- & it's beyond the wit of
your local maplin to find a suitable device, let me know off-list. I believe I
have a spare.
